Assigning and Managing Staff Roles on Your Nearpays Business Dashboard (Step-by-Step Guide)

Running a business comes with enough headaches. Tracking who’s doing what, and where, shouldn’t be one of them.
Whether you manage one outlet or fifteen, Nearpays gives you a smarter way to stay on top of your operations. No more chasing receipts. No more calling staff for transaction updates. With the Nearpays Corporate Dashboard, you can create branches, assign managers, link virtual POS systems, and track real-time performance, all from one screen.
In this guide, I’ll walk you through properly setting up your dashboard. From adding a new branch to assigning POS terminals and controlling who can access what. If you’re a business owner who wants better control without the daily back-and-forth, this setup is where you start.
Let’s get into it.
Step 1: Add a New Branch
First things first, you need to set up your branch locations. This gives structure to your business and helps organize staff and payment activity by location.
How to Add a Branch:
- Log in to your Nearpays Corporate Dashboard
- On the left panel, click “Branches.”
- Tap “Add Branch”.
- Fill in your Branch Name and Area
- Assign a Branch Manager by entering their name and email
- Click “Create Branch”.
That’s it. Your branch is now live on your dashboard. The assigned manager will get access to manage their team and the POS setup within that branch.
Step 2: Add a Virtual POS
Now that your branch is set, let’s connect it to a payment terminal. With Nearpays, you can create a Virtual POS (VPOS) that works through your staff’s mobile phones. No physical machines needed.
How to Add a Virtual POS:
- Stay logged into your dashboard
- On the left panel, click “Virtual POS.”
- Tap “Add POS.”
- Fill in the details:
- Area
- Branch
- Staff Name (or POS Name)
- Click “Add POS.”
Once added, the POS gets a unique ID that allows only that specific staff member to log into the Nearpays app and receive payments.
Step 3: Understand Access Levels
Not every staff member needs access to everything. Nearpays makes it easy to control who sees what.
- Super Admin (You, the Business Owner): You can view everything, including branches, staff activity, transaction logs, and all POS terminals.
- Branch Manager: This person can log into the dashboard, assign POS terminals to staff, and manage activities within their branch only. They don’t see or control other branches.
- Staff: Each staff member only sees the POS assigned to them. They use their unique ID to log in and can’t access the rest of the system.
This layered access helps keep your business safe, organized, and efficient. You always know who’s handling what and where.
Why This Setup Matters
Here’s the truth: most business owners in Nigeria are still managing multiple branches and staff through WhatsApp, manual records, or daily check-ins.
That method breaks down. Fast.
Nearpays replaces that chaos with a system that shows you live payment updates, staff performance, and POS activity from your phone or laptop.
You can monitor sales across all your locations without leaving your office or even your house. You’ll spend less time micromanaging and more time growing your business.
Final Thoughts
Assigning roles and managing your team shouldn’t be complicated. With Nearpays, it’s simple, fast, and built for the way real Nigerian businesses work.
